Juko Designs is a collaboration between weavers Samina Begum and Janet Toms who have created a range of woven fabric handbags and accessories using their own exclusively designed woven fabrics. Their designs reflect a contemporary interpretation of traditional weaving using individual yarn qualities to create innovative fabrics. Their inspiration stems from the fusion of their European and Asian cultural references. Part of the uniqueness of each bag is that it is designed, woven and manufactured in Yorkshire. The collection includes practical daytime handbags, occasion bags, fabric covered notebooks, purses and a range of embroidered badges and handbag mirrors featuring their woven fabrics. Using end of line yarns enhances the ecologically friendly aspect of the bags and careful attention to details ensures all the bags are meticulously sewn, using contrasting fabrics and finished to the highest standards.
