After having worked solely in two dimensions for a number of years, I am currently making three dimensional models, and combining then with print, drawing, painting and photography, to consider the nature of place "place". How do I define "place", and what part does memory play in defining it? I refer in particular to my home town by the se in the North East of England, and to my current home in West Yorkshire. I explore the layers of past uses, which accumulate to form what is to be seen on the surface of the land today. My special interest is in the urban fringes of towns and cities.
